Jim Carrey and his paintings: "I need color"
A few years ago, a video appeared on the network in which the famous actor Jim Carrey spoke about his work. Many of his fans were amazed. The pictures of the actor are not only beautiful, but also large-scale.
As Jim Carrey says, he began to seriously engage in creativity only in adulthood, although he always loved to draw. As a child, these were sketches and portraits of teachers, for which he often got it.
One winter, Jim went outside and felt that he was terribly lacking in color. A very familiar feeling, right? The actor began to draw, the paintings filled his house, workshop. Plunging into creativity, the artist slept and ate among the paintings. But it was the decision to paint that became an outlet.
“With the color of the picture, I can show what I love… Communicate about my inner life with the help of darkness, and about what I want with the help of the brightness of the light… I think becoming an artist means creating a model of your inner life.” Jim carrey.
Jim loves working with acrylics. He is attracted by the texture, density and brightness of the paint. Kerry likes to experiment, applying paint with huge brushes and regular brushes, smearing colors with her fingers. One of the interesting techniques is applying wet paint to dry paint, then scraping off the new layer, leaving an interesting pattern on the canvas.
Jim Carrey loves huge and large-scale canvases. To create them, he often climbs a ladder, and in some works he lies straight on his stomach. Although, like any creative person, Kerry can tear or cut the finished work, because it did not turn out the way he wanted.
Pay attention to this work, called "Hurrah, we are all broken", the artist says about it:
“Reality is energy and color clothed in a form that has emerged from nothing. Shattered figures dance for each other, filled with pain and shared tension, yet thinking they are separate.” Tell me, did you know that Jim Carrey is also an artist?
