Monica Bellucci opens up about her relationship with Tim Burton for the first time

 Monica Bellucci has confirmed a relationship with director Tim Burton. The Italian actress spoke about their romance in an interview with Elle France, for the cover of which she starred. Monica Bellucci/Elle France “I'm glad I met this man,” she said.

“This is one of those meetings that rarely happen in life. I know this man, I love him. And now I'm going to meet with the director, another adventure begins. I love Tim and I have a lot of respect for him."

Earlier it became known that the 58-year-old actress was invited to play the lead role in the sequel to the cult film "Beetlejuice", directed by 64-year-old Burton. Their romance became known at the end of last year, when they were photographed together. The French publication Paris Match reported that the director and actress met back in 2006 during the Cannes Film Festival, but "became close" after the Lumiere Film Festival in Lyon.

Monica Bellucci broke up with French artist Nicolas Lefebvre four years ago, previously the actress had been in a relationship with actor Vincent Cassel for 17 years, from whom she has two daughters.

They broke up in 2013. Tim Burton divorced actress Helena Bonham Carter in 2014 after 13 years of marriage and they have two children together.
