American skater and close friend of Evgenia Medvedeva, Jason Brown made coming out on his Instagram .

“I grew up surrounded by beautiful, creative, strong, proud, successful and supportive LGBTQ + people who were role models for me. Whether it's family members, coaches, skaters, teachers, friends, or other people I've crossed paths with, my perception of what it's like to be LGBTQ + was far from one-dimensional.

I understand that many are faced with a different reality. History has not always been kind, and the fight for equality and acceptance continues. There is no doubt that my life has improved thanks to the people around me who had the courage to stand up and share with the world a piece of who they are ... and for that I say thank you.

I believe that love always wins and each story will develop in its own way for each person. Mine is turning now. I am gay, and this story is still being written ... "- said the skater.

Brown is a bronze medalist at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi with the US team, a 2015 US champion and a 2020 silver medalist at the Four Continents.

He trains under the guidance of Canadian specialist Brian Orser , with whom Evgeny Medvedev also studied from 2018 to 2020. Brown met Medvedeva at the airport after moving to Canada and actively supported her during this period. Since then, the skaters have maintained warm and friendly relations.
