Olympic champion Margarita Mamun shows off engagement ring from Alexander Sukhorukov after couple's engagement announcement

21-year-old gymnast Margarita Mamun marries 28-year-old swimmer Alexander Sukhorukov.

Margarita Mamun first appeared in public with her boyfriend. The pair have been dating for three years, but until recently have not appeared together in public. After winning Olympics in Rio, Alexander and Margarita thought about the wedding. And on the eve of the New Year a man decided to do a responsible thing! A swimmer proposed to Margarita at the Olympic Ball, which was held at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege".

The young man got down on one knee and presented her the ring.

"I was worried. My hands are still shaking. But I am very happy", - Says Alexander.

Margarita was shocked by what is happening, and it seemed until the last moment did not know what was going on. But she immediately said "yes" to her beloved. And then she confessed she had not expected such a turn of events! 

Champion of the 2016 Games in rhythmic gymnastics Margarita Mamun has told how her lover, swimmer Alexander Sukhorukov, proposed to her at the Olympic Ball in Moscow, and has showed off exquisite diamond ring. According to Margraita, she was waiting for the proposal, but never thought it would happen in such a festive atmosphere.

"We were married back in Rio, when Sasha only hinted that he was thinking to make me a proposal. - said Mamun, who won Olympic gold in addition to seven champion titles. - I am, of course, absolutely happy today, and I am very pleased with ring, it's thin and neat, as I like. Sasha did it in front of cameras, the news immediately leaked to the media...

Recall a happy event in the life of a young couple took place in front of other olimpic winners and numerous media representatives. Engagement of Silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games, Alexander Sukhorukov and the absolute champion of the Olympic Games in Rio, Rita Mamun became the most prominent event at the Olympic Ball.
