Spain has arrested the $140 million Valerie yacht in Barcelona, which is linked to Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov. “Today we captured – the technical term was temporarily immobilized – a yacht owned by one of the main oligarchs,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on the air of La Sexta TV channel. “We are talking about a yacht that we estimate is worth $140 million.” Sanchez also promised that the authorities would continue to arrest the yachts of Russian oligarchs and officials, writes Reuters.

Formally, Chemezov does not own the 85-meter yacht Valerie. According to an extract from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines ship registry, the yacht is owned by a British Virgin Islands company, Delima Services Limited. After the publication of the offshore Pandora Papers leak, it turned out that the offshore (follows from the documents of the Trident Trust registrar) is owned by Anastasia Ignatova, Chemezov's 34-year-old stepdaughter. In addition, through offshore Ignatova acquired a villa worth 8.5 million euros. In the offshores of Anastasia Ignatova, perhaps, more than one villa and more than one yacht are hiding.

The archive found eight offshore companies, the beneficiary of which was Ignatova. The documents of four of them indicated the value of assets - 21 billion rubles (most likely, this amount already included a yacht for 10 billion). The boat was launched in 2011 by the German shipyard Lürssen, beloved among Russian billionaires, which builds some of the most expensive yachts in the world, the Important Stories publication previously reported . The interior was designed by superyacht design studio Reymond Langton. SuperYachtFan has valued Valerie at around $140 million. The Chemezov family uses the yacht not only for their own recreation, but also for rent.

The yacht rental website indicates that the cost of Valerie is € 89 million - 11.2 billion rubles at the current exchange rate. It has 19 cabins, among the features of the yacht: an extensive terrace with a 6-meter pool and jacuzzi, a dining room with a high table, a barbecue and a bar, according to the description. 1/20 According to Marine Traffic, the yacht has been in Barcelona since February 9 and was being repaired at the Barcelona MB92 shipyard until March 14.

According to a Reuters source in the government, the yacht will remain under arrest until the Spanish authorities confirm its ownership and whether it is subject to any sanctions. Sanctions against Chemezov, his stepdaughter, wife and son were introduced in 2014 and may fall into the new, already announced list of Western restrictive measures, since Chemezov himself supported the Russian attack on Ukraine and said that in a “special military operation to ensure internal security » Russia will emerge victorious despite the sanctions
