Longines launches an exclusive watch in honour of its ambassador Kate Winslet

Charity auction: Longines unveils the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet timepiece

Horology and philanthropy come together at Longines as it launches an exclusive watch in honour of its ambassador, Kate Winslet. Here's how you can own a limited edition piece...

Swiss watchmaker Longines has presented the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet, a special edition timepiece that pays homage to the long-time ambassador as well as in support of the Oscar winner's philanthropic organisation, The Golden Hat Foundation. Commenting on the gold watch, in which she handpicked the dial, case and strap, Winslet said: "The style of the model really appealed to me and I instantly fell in love with it. All the profits of the selling of the model are going directly to the Foundation. This project with Longines is helping raise awareness about a particular cause dear to my heart."

Three of the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet timepieces will go to the cause, to be auctioned online from now until 30 June. As for the remaining two — if you're wondering why they're withholding two pieces from the public — one will belong to Kate (she did design it), and the other will find a home in the Longines museum. And upping the prestige another notch, successful bidders will receive their watch from the actress herself at the next Longines event. So get your digital paddles out and may the best bidder win.

The auction runs until June 30 on longines.com. Of the remaining two, one will be presented to Winslet while the other will be showcased at the Longines museum in Saint-Imier, Switzerland.
