Lily-Rose Depp is the new face of Chanel fragrances

{module Ads Elite (xx)}

Following in the footsteps of her mother Vanessa Paradis, who appeared in a Coco Chanel fragrance ad 25 years ago, Lily-Rose Depp is named the face of the house's newest scent

It's been a big month for Lily-Rose Depp. The 16-year old ingénue — the daughter of American actor Johnny Depp and French model-actress-singer Vanessa Paradis — recently made her Cannes debut and now has been named the newest face of Chanel fragrances. It's no surprise that Karl Lagerfeld and the powers that be would tap on her fresh, waif-like beauty for this campaign: mum Paradis made a similarly big splash in 1991 in a memorable ad for the Coco Chanel fragrance. Decked out in feathers and swinging precariously in a birdcage, Paradis played a bird  — albeit a very glamorous one — whistling away as a cat perched nearby watched her intently.

The younger Depp will be the face of the new N°5 L'EAU, a scent created by in-house perfumer Olivier Polge. The campaign, directed by Johan Renck will be launched in the fall. In the meantime, Depp is slated to hit the big screen in three films: Kevin Smith's Yoga HosersPlanetarium by Rebecca Zlotowski and Stéphanie Di Giusto's La danseuse (The Dancer) that is competing in this year's Cannes Film Festival. Depp already has experience as the face of the brand's Pearl eyewear collection in September last year, but with a face made for beauty — check out her cheekbones and gorgeous pout — we think this pairing is a match made in heaven.
