Love Star Wars? Grafunkt’s upcoming collectibles will satisfy your inner Jedi

Nathan Yong of Grafunkt has collaborated with Disney to release four limited edition stools and side tables inspired by Star Wars

While Google Maps may have hunted down the hidden Millennium Falcon's hiding place recently, Star Wars fans don't have to go as far as the U.K. (Google Maps tweeted aerial images of it nearby Longcross Studios in Surrey) to feel the force. You can have a reimagined Millennium Falcon in the comfort of your own home In Singapore thanks to Grafunkt's collaboration with Disney.

The local furniture brand and retailer is gearing up for the 14 December release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the next installment in the sequel trilogy. Starring returning actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o and Domhnall Gleeson, talk about the film has been kept mum as expected.

Grafunkt's solution to the Star Wars craze is to design four limited edition stools and side tables in marble. Each piece is modelled after the TIE-Fighter, Millennium Falcon, Sandcrawler and AT-AT, with the first two representing the light and dark sides. Meanwhile, Sandcrawler and AT-AT were chosen for their iconic architectural elements — heck, the earlier has even inspired the Lucasfilm Animation building in Singapore.

With their angular shapes, these structural stools and side tables look at home in a stylish, contemporary setting. But only a true Star Wars fan will be able to recognise the pop culture iconography in Grafunkt's pieces — an entire generation's heart and soul immortalised in furniture.

Available from 1 December at Takashimaya Star Wars pop-up store, Grafunkt and The Artling. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be in theatres from 14 December.
