Ukrainian singer Andrei Danilko said that he would complete performing as Verka Serduchka, writes Ukraina.ru. On February 25, 2018 Danilko invited the Kiev authorities to “decommunize” Verka Serdyuchka. The last concert before the final round will be held on July 13 in Odessa, the newspaper notes. In 2019, the artist plans to hold a series of performances in Ukrainian cities. "A farewell tour means a big tour - a kind of" thank you "to those people who gave me, a boy from Poltava, who lived in an annex where the wallpaper was wrapped, the opportunity to provide for himself financially," Danilko said.

The career does not end.

Later, the representative of Danilko, Andrei Urenev, in a comment to the REN TV channel, clarified the statement of the artist about the end of his career in the image of Verka Serduchka. Urenev stressed that he considers the media reports about the completion of Danilko’s career premature. However, the representative of the singer admitted that the singer really intends to go on a farewell tour next year. “Most likely, it will be farewell, but we haven’t made any statements about this yet. <...> But there is some kind of official position that the career is ending, the end is ... it’s not,” he said. 

In addition, Urenev specified that he was talking about the image of Serdyuchka, and not about the career of Andrei Danilko. “Andrey has a lot of thoughts, a lot of ideas and new songs,” Urenev summed up, adding that Verka Serduchka’s performances will not end soon.

In turn, the assistant artist Igor Turchinsky said that he did not know anything about his plans to stop performing as Serdyuchka. "So that Andrey refuses the image of Verka Serdyuchka - no one knows about this from the artist’s surroundings ... What motives should be in order to abandon the image of Verka Serdyuchka?", He said in a commentary on RT.

Andrei Danilko has been performing as Verka Serdyuchka for over 20 years. For the first time Verka Serduchka appeared on the scene in 1993 at the "Humor" in Poltava. During his career, the artist managed to release more than ten studio albums, in 2007 Danilko as Verka Serdyuchka, conducted a show on the Ukrainian channel 1 + 1. In 2008, he took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki and became the People's Artist of Ukraine.
